The Second International Symposium on FusariumHead Blight was held under the auspices of the U.S.Wheat and Barley Scab Initiative on December 11–15, 2004, in Orlando, Florida. The symposium, which incorporated the Eighth European Fusarium Seminar, featured a good balance between European and U.S. speakers. The program included oral and poster sessions dealing with: host plant resistance and variety development; genetic engineering; chemical, cultural, and biological control; food safety, toxicology, and utilization of mycotoxincontaminated grain; pathogenesis, epidemiology, and disease forecasting; and taxonomy, population genetics, and genomics of Fusarium species. The plenary session focused on cereal genomics, Fusarium graminearum genomics, and hostpathogen, and pathogen-pathogen interactions in Fusarium head blight.Proceedings of the symposium are available in two complete volumes (582 pages), as well as on the following website: http://www.scabusa.org/forum.html
